Commitment to privacy

Lithium Australia Ltd (‘LIT’ or ‘the Company’) is committed to protecting and safeguarding privacy, and to ensuring that all personal information the Company receives is handled in accordance with the requirements of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), which regulates the way organisations collect, use, hold and disclose personal information.

Use and disclosure of information

LIT may use or disclose personal information where it would be reasonably expected that the Company would use the information about an individual for the purpose for which it was collected, or for a further purpose if that individual has consented.

In addition, LIT is permitted to use or disclose personal information where:

  • the individual has consented to the use or disclosure;
  • the Company reasonably believes that the use or disclosure is necessary to reduce or prevent a serious, immediate threat to health or safety;
  • the Company reasonably suspects that unlawful activity has been, is being or may be engaged in, and the use or disclosure is a necessary part of its investigation or response on the matter to the relevant authorities, or
  • such use or disclosure is required under, or authorised by, law.

Security and storage

LIT will take reasonable steps to ensure that any personal information the Company collects is stored in a secure environment accessible only by authorised persons, and with the Company’s knowledge.
